# See what you owe after a refund

> When a customer refund reverses a commission you already withdrew, your payout page shows the balance owed, and it is recovered from your next commissions.

Sometimes a customer asks for a refund after you have already withdrawn the commission for that sale. Until now, that amount quietly disappeared from your history. Now your payout page shows it.

## Balance owed

Under **Ready to withdraw**, a **Balance owed** line shows the total. It is recovered from your next commissions, and the line goes away once it is paid down.

## How it is recovered

New commissions pay the balance down first. You can withdraw again once your available balance is above zero. If a customer is refunded again later for a larger amount, the rest of that commission is reversed the same way.

If a refund leaves your balance too low to cover a withdrawal you requested but have not received, that withdrawal is reduced or canceled to match.

Most partners will never see this line. It appears only after a refund on money you had already withdrawn.
